Treatment

Specializing in depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQIA+ related issues, and gender-affirming care

Depression

Depression is often characterized by extended periods of low mood, lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness, and other symptoms. Treatment for depression can help you manage these symptoms so they no longer control your life or keep you from the things that matter most to you.

Anxiety

Anxiety often involves frequent worrying,  racing thoughts, avoidance of situations that provoke anxiety, a sense of dread, physical symptoms like sweating, stomach upset, and a rapid pulse, and several other symptoms. Treatment for anxiety can be especially helpful if you find that your efforts to avoid situations that make you anxious are causing problems with your self-esteem, friendships, job, school, or in other areas.

Trauma

Trauma can impact people in life-altering ways for many years after the trauma occurred. A few signs that you might be struggling with past trauma include experiencing intrusive thoughts or memories of past trauma, flashbacks, strong emotional or physical reactions when reminded of past trauma, or feeling frequently on edge or easily startled. Seeking treatment for past trauma can be difficult for many people. You should know that therapy can help you process trauma so that is has less of a profound impact on your life.

LGBTQIA+

Finding healthcare professionals you feel comfortable with as someone in the LGBTQIA+ community can be a major barrier to getting help. I am passionate about providing a safe and empowering space for clients. I have experience working with clients who are questioning, experiencing family or relationship conflict, and those that just feel more comfortable working with someone within the community.

Gender-Affirming
Services

Being an individual who identifies as trans, non-binary, or gender diverse in any other way can come with unique challenges related to gender dysphoria, your perception of yourself and your place in society, family stress, integrating into different environments, and many others. It is important to know that the only effective way to address gender dysphoria is through gender affirmation. I additionally have experience providing evaluation and letters of support for gender-affirming medical treatments.

Additional  Experience

I have additional experience working with individuals who experience mood swings, prolonged feelings of apathy, low life satisfaction, difficulty building and maintaining social relationships, panic attacks and related avoidance, and many other issues. I am comfortable working with neurodiverse clients that may be experiencing hardship related to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other forms of neurodiversity.

About Me

Welcome to The Liminal Space!

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) that is credentialed in the state of Missouri and I have been working in behavioral health since 2015. I am passionate about working with adults to lessen the impact of mental health conditions and of the stress that life has to offer. I believe in an integrated approach to therapy rather than ascribing to one particular approach or a one-size-fits-all method.

I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and I currently provide therapy via telehealth (video) throughout the state of Missouri. I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2016 and have worked with a wide variety of individuals from different backgrounds, different regions of the United States, and with varying severities of mental illness.

I started out on this venture of opening a private practice at the beginning of 2023 with the mission to provide accessible and comfortable treatment options for those who find location, travel, or the in-office environment to be a barrier to receiving care. I am passionate about working with adult clients across both metropolitan and rural areas in the state of Missouri.
